For over 20 years, David Chlumsky has enjoyed fly fishing all over the world and in his native Czech Republic.
Lets find out more about his journey to becoming a fly fishing champion-
“I first started fishing on local rivers near Prague with my dad and his friends when I was 5 years old. It started with sitting on shores, waiting on carp or similar, then I started reading lots of flying fishing books and became more interested in casting methods.
When I was 13 years old my parents bought me my first fly rod for Christmas, and it wasn’t long before I was taking part in my first youth competition. Fast forward 2 years and I was pleased to join the Czech Republic youth team before moving to the adult team in 2013.”

“Since 2013 I’ve enjoyed fly fishing competitively and have been lucky enough to compete at many great fishing spots, my proudest moments have to be winning 3 national titles in Czech Republic and 9 FIPS Mouche medals including world and European titles.
A lot has changed since I started fly fishing, not only has the sport become much more popular, but fly patterns have also improved massively over the years.
I’m pleased to have worked with the team at Fario to design these flies for next season and I’m sure they will give you the edge at your next competition”
