The Half Hog is the low-riding cousin of our Super Sedgehog. The dark roe deer wing is tied in at the front only, so the body sits down in the surface film just like a hatching or egg-laying sedge, while the hopper legs add movement and help the fly sit flat for more positive takes. This version takes the colours of the classic Bibio, with a black seals fur body, red centre band and a silver rib for a touch of flash.
Fish it static to rising fish or on the top dropper of a team when fish are taking sedges in or just under the film.
