The Black Hopper is probably one of the most popular dry flies used on the still water scene. It is a great buggy looking generic dry fly which can be used to represent an array of terrestrial type flies including hawthorn, adult buzzer and heather fly. This pattern also makes a great addition to a wet fly cast when fished as part of a team of wets.
